Heading off to college is both scary and exciting. As excited as you may be, you may also feel scared. It doesn’t have to be scary, though. When you learn a bit more about what to expect, your fear will be lessened. The piece that follows helps do that.

If you are simply unable to scrape together enough money for tuition, look into an education loan. Therefore, it’s probably best you get in a little debt so that your future is as bright as possible.
Familiarize yourself with your schedule and where your classes are before the first day of school. Time yourself to get a feel for how quickly you’ll have to walk to get from class to class. Also locate other important places that you will be using a lot and mark them on your map.
In your first semester, you should take some gen ed classes. If there’s a class you know you’ll have to take to graduate and don’t want to deal with, you should get it out of the way early so that you have more time later to take classes you enjoy more. If anything, you’ll wish to avoid becoming a senior sitting in a course containing mainly freshmen.
