Become involved with extracurricular activities while away at school. Participating in activities that pertain to your interests beefs up your experience for when you depart for the real world. Do not do so much that your grades suffer, however.
When you start class, take the time to introduce yourself to your professors. Make sure you know the location of their offices and how to get in touch with them easily.
